We are recruiting new members at all levels now, call Kim Blezard on 07931 760303 or contact the club using our "Contact us" web-page.
All members must be: between the age of 5 and 16, and range from non-swimmers through to pre-competition standard. There is an annual fee to join the club, with a small charge to get into the pool on club nights. Whitworth Swimming Club is a "not for profit organisation" and all income is re-invested to hire the pool, pay for equipment, fund gala's and medals, support the Christmas Party and invest in our volunteer swimming teachers via courses, training and education.
All the qualified swimming teachers (purple shirts) and teaching assistants (white) are volunteers and give up their time to teach at the club and attend training sessions and meetings. If you have the time and tenacity to" volunteer"and help us continue to teach high quality swimming to children and teenagers then please contact Kim Blezard about volunteering.
The swimming club is part of Rossendale Swim Forum and a member of the STA
(Swimming Teacher's Association). The club offers a range of high quality swimming activities, stroke technique and development, health and fitness swimming and a range of badges and awards that members can participate for. The club also has active links with our twin town in Kandel, Germany.
We strive to deliver good quality swimming lessons and progression through our groups as the swimmers improve. We are a club that focuses on stroke development rather than competitive swimming and coaching.
